Welcome!

Picture
My name is Carol Wellen and I am a media specialist in Montgomery County, Maryland. On this site you can view lessons and artifacts I have created during my School Library Media graduate program at McDaniel College.
All of my coursework is organized according to the American Association of School Librarians’ five standards for Initial Preparation of School Librarians.

Mission Statement:
In order for students to become effective users of ideas and information, they must feel welcomed and respected as part of our learning community.

My goal as a media specialist is to make all students and staff feel welcome in the media center and to gather resources that reflect their interests, cultures, and personalities.
Vision Statement:
The Montgomery County Public School Library Media Programs provide innovative, learner-centered services to nurture and challenge the academic and personal information needs of students and staff.

About ME

Prepared as part of McDaniel College's AASL-approved library media certification program.
This site and the artifacts are best viewed on a PC.  Some artifacts may not load on mobile devices.
